Don't Push Me Cause I'm Close To The Edge

Here is a song where an 80's rap tune is combined with a song from the soundtrack of a famous 80's film; certainly an odd combo, but that's the beauty of mashups.

The song is by Frenchman Doppelbanger and can be found on his download page. It is known as Flash Runner, as it combines the end theme to the film Blade Runner, by the underrated composer Vangelis, and the classic old-school rap song The Message, by Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five. To clarify, it uses the music from the Vangelis tune and the vocals from the Flash song.

I mainly picked this particular song as Sunday night I was able to see "The Final Cut" of Blade Runner, as featured on the new DVD release of the movie. It has been playing in various theatres across the country, and it finally came to the small arty theatre in the Orlando area known as the Enzian. I won't get into a full review, but The Final Cut is pretty awesome, and I am very happy I got to see it on the big screen.

Anyway, I'll be back Sunday afternoon (I'll be more punctual; my schedule was all out of whack today) with another tune.
