Yet Another Great DJ From San Francisco

One person who I should have mentioned here before today is someone that many say is among the best (if not the best) mashup artists out there currently. It is Party Ben, and to be honest it's impossible to pick out one song to spotlight as so many of them are worthy of a listen, and a plethora are available for download on his website.

For example, I liked his Callin' Up The Pieces where he put together The Average White Band and Lyrics Born; it's also interesting that it's pretty funky and has rapping yet only one person in the combo is black. Go figure.

His Genius of London tune is a near-miracle in that it made London Bridge into a more than tolerable song. Yes, one of the worst songs I've ever heard, made acceptable! As long as you ignore Fergie's horrid voice (but unfortunately Heart wasn't able to), then it's worth downloading.

Apparently a lot of people hate his Wipeout Taffy but putting together The Surfaris and D4L was genius.

Two that you must get are... the first is Promiscuous With You; yes, it made the Nelly Furtado song into something you can listen to without changing the station or skipping to the next track. The fan-made mashup video is pretty bad-ass too.

The second is something that's incredible. It is Galvanize the Empire; yes, the Chemical Brothers song combined with Darth Vader's theme! It works amazingly well and several fan-made videos have been put on YouTube. It's a must-download, IMO.

Anyway, hopefully you were cherry-pick a few of his songs, as they deserve to be on your harddrive.

I'll be back a week from today with the next mashup to spotlight.
